About
Hello!! I would like to share that I have a B.S. in education and after 5 years of working with youth in grades K-12th, I decided I wanted to do more. I went back to school and earned a master's degree from St. Thomas University. I became a licensed mental health counselor and decided to use my passion for helping individuals overcome life’s challenges by attempting to impart the skills necessary to increase their overall wellbeing. My therapeutic approach is holistic, which means physical and spiritual health is a huge component in helping individuals feel whole. I attempt therapeutic approaches that are integrative and solution based on each client's specific needs. I have over 12 years of experience with symptoms of anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, behavior development, anger management, stress, low self-esteem, and substance addiction.
Throughout my career I have worked with youth and family services, veterans with P.T.S.D, school-age youth, women shelters, teens, adults with substance addiction, and mental health diagnoses in a variety of settings. Some of those settings were in community outreach, public schools, D.J.J., outpatient day programs, IOP, and PHP.
There is no cookie-cutter solution to healing. I believe no matter how strong an individual may be, there is always room to seek help for the things that become unmanageable. Seeking wellness does not make an individual weak but rather; it demonstrates the commitment they have to themselves and the innate ability to gain the quality of life they deserve.
