About

I work from a client-centered, humanistic approach with a deep belief it is my responsibility to hear or otherwise witness the story of the person sitting in front of me. Based on the goals you have for therapy, I will listen and problem-solve with you around that. My approach includes being an ally and a participant on your journey of mental well-being and healing. In addition to being trained in clinical mental health counseling, I also provide creative approaches and outlets such as music therapy, play therapy, and expressive arts therapy as a board-certified music therapist and a play therapist completing requirements for registration (RPT expected Fall 2023). I am creative in my approach to couples, family, and group therapy as well — the fun stuff doesn’t just have to happen in individual therapy! Trauma-informed care and Disability Rights and Justice approaches (which I subscribe to) lean heavily into experiential therapies and experiential learning because this integrates more neurological structures than talking alone. In our sessions, depending on the age(s) and developmental level(s) of the person(s) sitting in front of me, we may engage in talk therapy as well as other creative approaches if it appears this will take you/your loved one further in your healing. I provide therapy both in-person in my office in Aurora, Colorado and online to expand the reach and accessibility of services. I have worked in numerous mental health settings including inpatient psych, intensive outpatient psych, and private practice so I am well-versed in providing care at many levels and to a range of diagnoses. I am comfortable and inclined to take an interdisciplinary approach working with prescribers, case managers, other providers, and teachers to support my clients in the most efficacious ways.
