Hey there!

My name is Ananya, and I'm a fully licensed Clinical Social Worker (LMSW) in West Michigan. I graduated from Michigan State University in 2016 and have worked with folks of all ages and all walks of life. My primary experience has been crisis intervention, where I have spoken with individuals around the country as they discussed issues related to suicide, depression, anxiety, grief, substance use, etc. My background as a second generation immigrant allows a particularly insightful understanding relating to stress around racial identity, multicultural upbringings, and cultural assimilation.

The most important aspect of counseling involves the connection between yourself and your counselor. My person-centered approach borrows from multiple counseling styles such as crisis intervention, solution-focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, etc. In sessions, I prioritize creating a validating, non-judgmental environment where you can feel safe processing your thoughts and moving forward in the healing process.
