About
Hello, and thank you for your courage in taking the first steps toward healing. Therapy can be a curious and often unknown process. I am skilled in helping clients navigate their way towards recovery, new paths in life, and more sustainable self-care skills.
I have been licensed in California since 2016, and in Colorado since 2018. I have been seeing clients since 2011 when I started seeing clients in a community counseling center as a student in graduate school. Since then I have worked with people who are struggling with depression and anxiety, exploring their sexuality and/or gender identity, healing from trauma, and working on recovery from behavioral or chemical addictions. I have predominately worked in outpatient settings, including clinics, schools, and community-based services.
My clinical style is client-centered. I want to create a safe and supportive environment for clients to share their experience and grow in new ways. I am often direct, and at times use humor. I use a variety of clinical styles to address whatever may be coming up for you in the moment. I utilize a variety of therapeutic styles. These may include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), motivational interviewing (MI), or solution-focused therapy. I aim to be trauma-focused and to identify how family of origin or early upbringing may be impacting present days issues.
The primary focus of my clinical work currently is in chemical dependency. I also value working with families of those struggling with addiction. I have worked with patients healing from trauma and finding new ways of coping. I value working with anyone hoping to show up and be more present in any domain of their lives, be it with work, family, or even in solitude.
