About

Welcome!

While you may feel lost now, that is not an indication of how your life will continue. It takes a lot of strength and will power to work towards a more fulfilling and happier life. I applaud you. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. Here is a little about me and how I plan to support you:

I have a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (2016) and am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. I have experience working with school aged children, adolescents and adults. My experience is varied and comes from an array of different settings including community mental health agencies, public school settings, rehabilitation centers, acute psychiatric hospitalizations and residential psychiatric treatment facilities. Although that seems like a mouthful, it simply means that I have had experience working with a broad range and severity of clinical and behavioral presenting issues, such as: depression, anxiety, ADHD/ADD, adjustment disorders, phase-of-life problems, relationship and family issues, LBGT+ community and much more.

I am a firm believer everyone is an expert in their own life and posses the skills necessary to attain the best version of themselves. My therapeutic style involves helping you to arrive at insight, strategies, and tools that you can begin using immediately to make positive change in your life. I love to provide you with concrete tools wherever possible and help you to have a plan for the following days before our next session, if that is the pace you would like to move at. Collaboration is important - together we can work on steps for you to reach your goals and help overcome your presenting concerns.

I would describe my style as authentic, genuine, warm and supportive. I will be there to guide you, encourage you, possibly even challenge you if I feel you are unknowingly allowing obstacles to stand in your way. If you are looking for quick fixes, I am not the best counselor to work with. I believe in taking time and working on wellness slowly, holistically, and consistently. Just as physical health takes time and consistency, so does mental health. I look forward to helping you in any way I can!

Lastly, I am ONLY licensed within the state of Texas. Meaning at the time of session, client must be a resident of Texas and physically be within the state of Texas.
