I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist. I draw upon relational-cultural, attachment, and family systems theory in my clinical work. I specialize in treating traumatic stress in children, adolescents, and young adults and provide support to their caregivers and family systems. I served as a Child & Family Therapist within the Trauma Treatment Program at Children’s Research Triangle (CRT) in Chicago, IL from 2012-2018, taught graduate and undergraduate students in the Department of Art Therapy & Counseling at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago from 2017-2019. I entered private practice in 2019.

Since earning a MA in Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, I have received training in several trauma-focused treatments including Child-Parent Psychotherapy, Attachment, Regulation and Competency (ARC), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Integrative Treatment of Complex Trauma for Adolescents, and Structured Psychotherapy for Adolescents Responding to Chronic Stress.

My style is warm and collaborative. I value transparency, humor and utilizing the creative arts process to compliment talk therapy. I identify as a cis-gender third-generation Mexican-American woman who is married and the mother of two young children. My interests include ceramics, drawing, and sharing time with my friends and family.
