About

Amanda is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas and has been counseling since 2014. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Women and Gender Studies from Texas A&M University in 2011. She completed her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling from the University of North Texas in 2013. She has had the joy of counseling in multiple settings including schools, private practice, and nonprofit organizations. Amanda developed a nonprofit organization in 2012 that supports children facing medical challenges called Just for J, Inc. Amanda’s goal is and has always been the same- helping people find their best selves and allowing space and time for healing. She has worked with children of all ages, teenagers, adults, couples, and families. Amanda believes that the relationship developed between the counselor and client sets the foundation to reach a place of growth and healing. By providing clients with a safe, caring, and accepting environment, she is able to encourage clients to share their experiences through different techniques and approaches. Amanda believes in working together with her clients to overcome difficulties and instill hope for the future. She believes that counseling is a journey and is passionate about helping her clients get “unstuck” in the midst of what they are experiencing. Amanda desires for all clients to know their worth no matter what challenges come their way.

When Amanda is not in the office, she enjoys time with her husband, family, and friends. She enjoys running, time in the sunshine, time spent at church, and watching Aggie football. Amanda is an Enneagram 3 wing 2, so she loves helping, leading, connecting, and inspiring people around her!
