About

Hello, my name is Amanda Valladares. I am an LCSW and have been in the career of social work therapies for eight years. I completed my undergraduate studies at Cal State Northridge and my Master's program at Columbia University. My approach style for therapy is tailored depending on the therapeutic needs of the client. I have worked with a broad range of cultures, ages, and genders. The focus of my practice is to increase clients' motivation, self-esteem, skills, and confidence in being able to work toward independently managing their therapeutic concerns. My approach My approach style for therapy is based on meeting the client where they are. My therapeutic styles can range from CBT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, guided meditation, solution-focused, trauma-focused, strength-based, psychodynamic, and many others. My focus I enjoy working with a diverse array of clients in regard to age, culture, ethnicity, religion, and gender. I have worked with clients from the ages of adolescence to seniors. I have assisted clients with conditions regarding depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, communication, goal-setting, self-esteem, family/work stress, adjustments to reentry after incarceration, and substance use. My communication style I love to create a relaxing and open environment for clients. I always focus on providing a judgment-free space for clients by being mindful of the aspects of courage and vulnerabilities that come with engaging in therapy. I encourage a transparent style of communication in order to obtain feedback about our therapeutic rapport and interventions. My journey to therapy Ever since I was young, I was often the one my friends would come to when they needed a friendly ear to listen. I knew from then on that I wanted to be a therapist and help others. My deep concern for the well-being of humanity begins with the individual; therefore, I have devoted my life to providing the utmost care and healing to those in distress.
