Over the past 20 years, I have developed my skills and training in community and publicly-funded non-profit programs, focusing primarily on underfunded, impoverished communities struggling with substance use, depression, anxiety, and generational family-trauma. More than anything, I have applied the concept of “normalizing” the experience of seeking help, so that all of my patients feel comfortable in seeking support. My approach with all patients is to ensure that you are the expert in your life. My primary modality is a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and short-term, solution-focused sessions, so that we can identify your needs, build on your strengths and get you to the goals you have set to achieve. I have extensive experience in trauma and anxiety management, family-systems therapy as well as life transitions. Throughout treatment, we will use behavioral interventions to support your short-term or long-term goals. I truly enjoy helping patients dive deeply into issues related to parenting/re-parenting, attachment, personality deficits as well as life transitions that are causing anxiety, distress, and depression. We will focus on your strengths, and identify therapeutic strategies to apply and practice outside of our 1-hour weekly session.
