Hi! My name is Amanda Sterzick and I am a licensed social worker in the State of Michigan. I received my BA from Northern Michigan University and majored in Psychology: Behavior Analysis with a minor in Human Services. I wanted something broader than Psychology allowed me, and a Master's Degree from Grand Valley State University in Social Work fit that bill. For the majority of my career I have worked with families experiencing a housing crisis along with depression, anxiety, and trauma. I have case managed, counseled, problem solved, supported, encouraged, and gave hope to those I have worked with. I strive to be warm, welcoming, and hospitable.

In my practice, I focus heavily on a person’s strengths and creative problem solving when I am supporting them. I see potential everywhere and enjoy seeing a person develop and bloom into their goals and personal growth! I love to practice the art of connecting, supporting, and developing of those that I work with.

My first step is usually to ask how you would like to design our work together to get you that support you are looking for. What is the best way and times for us to communicate? As we are designing our work together, we can decide the best modes of communication to help get you the support you are looking for. We can schedule virtual time together with a video meeting, we can text, or speak on the phone. I have found that combining your expertise of your experiences, feelings, and ideas with my expertise of having worked with others and my therapeutic training can helpful in the creation of goals and solutions to the support you are looking for.
