As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Amanda provides a warm and compassionate environment to encourage growth and change. Her background includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a focus on Art Therapy from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago with focuses on mental health and community wellness.
Amanda uses a holistic strengths-based model to empower and support clients. She is trauma-informed and takes into consideration each client’s unique needs and experiences to create a welcoming and safe space. Operating from a feminist perspective, she utilizes empathic listening, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic theories, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness. She is also multiculturally aware and incorporates cultural sensitivity within the therapeutic process.
