Welcome to therapy!

My name is Amanda and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 6 years of experience working in the field of social work. I received my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from the University of Illinois in 2015 and my Masters of Social Work from University of Illinois in 2019. I then received 3,000 hrs of supervision to receive my LCSW.

Starting therapy is a huge, and sometimes overwhelming step for a lot of people. It can create feelings of anxiety and hesitancy to work on difficult things--but I am so glad you are brave enough to take that first step!

My experience lies mostly in mental health; with positions held in both inpatient and outpatient mental health settings with interventions and treatments lying with various populations, including homeless services, geriatric populations, individuals with severe mental health disorders, and more. While I currently work full time in primary care, I look forward to returning to my roots in the mental health world. I am open and happy to help with any of the following needs:

Choosing your therapist is a difficult task! I am here for you and willing to listen to what has both worked for you in the past with therapy, and what did not work for you to ensure your needs are met and so you feel comfortable. My therapeutic approach is one that centers around autonomy and advocacy to build your self-esteem so you can be your best self. My job as your therapist will never be to tell you what to do--but to guide you in making the most informed, empowered decisions.
