Alyssa Zepeda is passionate about empowering and supporting clients in the journey of healing trauma and reclaiming joy. Alyssa is a compassionate LCSW whose work is centered on creating a nurturing and affirming therapeutic space. As a Latina mental health professional, she believes in the importance of recognizing how intersectionality and societal factors impact our well-being. She is dedicated to providing care that truly honors the unique needs, experiences, and identities of all. Alyssa utilizes holistic and evidenced-based approaches such cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, and EMDR. Alyssa has worked with children, adults, and families for many years and has gained extensive experience and training in treating conditions such as but not limited to acute, complex, and intergenerational trauma, depression, grief, low self-esteem, anxiety, major life transitions, immigration/acculturation challenges, perinatal mental health, attachment difficulties, as well as stress related to racism and oppression. Alyssa is currently completing training to become a Registered Dance Movement Therapist through the American Dance Therapy Association. Dance, movement, and creative expression are powerful therapeutic tools that can support with facilitating integrative healing across multiple domains of functioning: cognitive, emotional, physical, and spiritual. Alyssa is incredibly passionate about exploring the physiological impact of trauma and stress and supporting clients build more nurturing relationships with themselves body, mind, and soul. Incorporating movement, artistic expression, and attention to the body offers clients the opportunity to dive into their emotional experience in a powerful, creative, and intuitive way. When Alyssa isn’t working hard to support her clients she enjoys singing, reading, dancing, playing with flowers, and cuddling with her dog, Mio.
