About
Hello and welcome! I am happy to see that you have taken the first steps towards healing. What you are doing takes a lot of courage and curiosity, and I can’t wait to help you explore the inner workings of you. Until I get to know you, I would love to share a little about myself to make sure we are a good fit! I received my undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Oswego in Wellness Management and Psychology in 2012. I have always been interested in how wellness can be incorporated in all aspects of life including social, emotional, spiritual, environmental, occupational, intellectual, and physical wellbeing. Through my studies in college, I discovered mindfulness meditation and my life has since been changed for the better. I have found that practicing mindfulness (non-judgmental awareness of the present moment) has also changed my client’s life and increases their ability to live in the moment. I received my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with a specialization in trauma treatment and cultural competency in 2015. My love for mindfulness translated into an interest in the physiology of anxiety and trauma and how it affects the nervous system. I have since gotten certifications in Reiki, Yoga (Registered 200Hr Yoga Teacher), EFT “Tapping” and Somatic Experiencing. I believe once we can tap into our bodies and understand what they are telling us, change becomes much more intuitive and natural. I have gained my experience from working in a variety of settings such as school based counseling working with “at risk” middle school and high school students, community based counseling, and substance abuse addiction treatment centers.
