Hi there, I'm Alyssa! My name is Alyssa Angelillo. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 13 years of experience working with individuals seeking change. In the 13+ years I have worked in the mental health field, I have worked with adults with a variety of concerns, including depression, anxiety, difficulty with life transitions, codependency, low self-esteem, grief & loss, family conflict, and substance abuse & relapse prevention. My approach I believe in a person-centered approach where I am able to understand the place you are in in your life and help you get to where you want to be. Commonly, this approach is used in conjunction with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness techniques. Being able to understand your "why" leads us to developing the "how;" how to implement solutions that are realistic and effective in reaching your goals. My focus I have experience working with adults 18-65 with a variety of concerns, from general life stressors and how to manage them effectively to individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, or substance abuse. My communication style My sessions are patient-directed; I am here for you! My goal is to make you feel safe and comfortable sharing during our sessions. I am an empathetic person and create a space that is exempt from judgment and criticism. My journey to therapy I have always had an innate desire to help. My undergraduate education is in psychology, where I cultivated my understanding of people. I decided to pursue a master's in social work when I realized I could reach a larger population of people. My goals for you My goal for our sessions is to help YOU determine YOUR goals. I am here for you! I will never impose my opinion on your goals, may they be big or small, but I will make sure that your goals are realistic by having an open & honest conversation about your motivation, strengths & abilities.
