I have been an active Child & Family and Substance Use therapist for 3 years, working with various people in different stages of life. After completion of my education I began my clinical practice at a local inpatient Substance Use clinic and a trauma informed Community Mental Health agency, providing services in all areas of the community, including schools, homes and office. Working in this manner, flexibility & empathy have been key to working with my clients from many different backgrounds. This has been a major influence on my counseling style, which focuses on treating every person as an individual, with their own strengths and needs in their own environment. I focus on providing a warm and open counseling style, attuned to your needs and goals, with the intent to gain more understanding of how to better treat those I serve. I have experience with those struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use, defiance, and attention impairment. I am always working on evolving my treatment style by increasing my knowledge through constant trainings and professional meetings. Outside of counseling, I am a wife and a mom to a young boy, which has been the most challenging and truly rewarding role in my life, depending on the day. I spend quite a bit of my free time with my family, hiking, running or knitting.
