Hello there! Welcome to Find A Therapist. My name is Allyson Timmons and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. I received my Master’s degree in Counselor Education with a focus in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Florida International University. I have 8 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked with children, adolescents, families, and adults in a variety of formats. My academic training and life experiences have shaped me into the counselor I am today.
I am well versed in working with mood disorders, anxiety, addictions, stress management, life transitions, and adjustment issues. I have experience working with severe mental health issues as well. I have had the honor of serving a diversity of individuals and their families in inpatient and outpatient settings.
I pride myself on building good rapport with my clients and setting healthy goals with them. My therapeutic style is supportive and solution-focused. I tailor interventions to the needs of my clients. I use a combination of cognitive-behavioral, psycho-educational and humanistic modalities, as well as evidence based techniques. I like to meet my clients where they are and work with them to determine the course of treatment. Ultimately my goal is to help empower my clients and motivate them to reach their goals.
