Hello and welcome to my page! I am happy to have you here because that means that you are taking steps to begin working on yourself and improving yourself. My name is Allison Schickedanz and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. I am also a National Certified Counselor and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor, as well as an EMDRIA trained EMDR therapist level I&II. I have experience in working with trauma, crisis, anxiety and depression, among other issues. I have been working as a therapist for the past five years and I am a former first responder.

I believe in a client-centered approach, as well as using cognitive behavioral therapy, as well as other treatment modalities. I enjoy helping each client and learning what it is they want to work on, to help create an individual treatment plan that is just for them. Whether this is your first time seeking therapy, you are seeking help after a break or you have a life-long history of being in therapy, I want to help you become a better you.

I did my graduate internship in play therapy and working with children and adolescents. Since then, I have expanded my client base and knowledge. I have worked with children, adolescents, adults and families. I have worked in a non-profit agency, a private practice and in substance abuse treatment centers. I have worked with those who have been previously incarcerated, the homeless population and those in community living. I have worked with those who have been abused, including physical, sexual, emotional and mental, as well as those who have experienced traumas. I have worked with military veterans and first responders, including police, fire, EMS and dispatchers, as well as with the families of these populations.
