I practice psychodynamic psychotherapy; which, essentially, means that I attend to the cause and not just the symptom. You do your best to say whatever comes to mind and I do the rest! I work in the areas of depression, anxiety, identity or stage-of-life issues, illness, loss, difficulty trusting your decisions, fluctuating self-esteem, career, and relationship struggles (with family, friends, or significant others). First and foremost, I value compassion for all living beings, and I would never ask someone to be something they are not. In addition to being a general practitioner, I also offer specialized treatment to the LGBTQIA+ community and pet bereavement services. Pets are part of our families and should be treated as such. I believe this profession requires lifelong learning. I am continually educating myself in theory and clinical training (that is, what to actually do in the room) from the best resources our field has to offer. In addition to my already extensive training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy, I am also training to be a health coach! The exciting new fields of lifestyle and functional medicine align with my values by seeking to treat the cause and not just the symptoms. My aim is to assist clients with their overall wellness, as our struggles with physical health are often tied to emotional wellbeing.
