Hi there, I'm Alicia! Hello, my name is Alicia Zuniga. I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in treatment for children and families. My passion stems from more than 15 years of direct clinical work with children, teens, and families. My approach The goal of treatment is an individual journey. It is my belief that the client leads the therapeutic process. I use CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused, Mindfulness, and play therapy. My focus I predominantly work with children ages 5 to 15. I include the family unit in the therapy process, therefore, expanding my clientele across the lifespan. The majority of my practice is focused on the areas of anxiety, adjustment, grief, trauma, divorce, stress, ADHD, and depression. My communication style I am flexible and easygoing. The therapeutic environment is one that I hope is warm and welcoming. I use mindfulness practices to ease the client into the session. My priority is the client during their session and being present with them. My journey to therapy My passion to work with others and find solutions and paths to healthier living is what lead me to this career. I enjoy working with children and families and providing them with information to empower them to make the best choice for their emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. My goals for you The goal process is led with open-ended exploration for the reason that leads them to therapy. The client is the one that decides on their goal. I work on establishing their goals into measurable ones that in turn lead to noticeable change and achievement of goals. My first session with you The first couple of sessions are all about building rapport and gathering information. The client can expect open-ended questions and depending on the age some art activities.
