Hi there, I'm Alexis! I am Alexis Mitchell, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who is looking forward to helping you heal from the things preventing you from having the life you want. My specialties are trauma, depression, and anxiety. My approach My therapeutic approach is Narrative Therapy. I utilize EMDR, CBT, and DBT to help my clients reprocess trauma and be able to regain a sense of safety and calm in their bodies and minds. My focus My typical client is a person of any gender being impacted by traumatic events from their past. This may range from disabling flashbacks and depression to lingering beliefs about you or the world around you that interfere with your building the life you want. My communication style I create a calm environment where we can focus on your needs. My style is professional but not formal. It feels like you are sitting with a friend that cares, but who also has the tools to move you forward and will tell you the things a friend may not. My goals for you I approach goal setting as client-led activity. Your best and healthiest version of yourself is my only goal. You tell me what that looks like and we build the road map of long and short-term goals together. My first session with you Our first session is an assessment where I gather some additional information and you help me understand the landscape of your life so we can best address the main challenges you are facing.
