Hi there! I'm Alex. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia with 6 years of counseling experience and over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I have worked in many settings to include residential, acute hospitalization, in home, therapeutic day treatment, state prison, local jail, and state hospital. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. I have worked with individuals on issues such as mood disorder, anxiety, stress, anger management, conflict resolution, family issues, trauma, gaps in communication, couple's therapy, and self-esteem.

I believe in putting the client in the driver's seat and being there to support them along the way. My approach is warm and friendly as we collaboratively work to resolve presenting problems and gain insight along the way. My clinical approaches include Client Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I understand how hard it is to ask for help sometimes, and I admire the courage that it takes to do so. That being said, I take my client's needs seriously and look forward to working collaboratively toward positive growth and change.
