My name is Alex Shauger and I’m a licensed clinical therapist in the DFW area. I have a very unique background when it comes to counseling considering 99% of my experience has been in prisons, jails, or the legal system (although I did spent a short time in healthcare). My background has provided me with the experiences that have shaped who I am as a counselor today. I primarily work with individuals, couples, and families experiencing things such as relationship conflict, communication breakdown, and/or difficulty managing tasks or goal setting. I Iike to consider my counseling approach as collaborative meaning I help problem solve and generate solutions (aka solution focused therapy) – that’s why your in counseling, right?
