Hi there, I'm Alexandra! My name is Alexandra Jackson. My license is LCSW22763. I have worked in various settings and age 2 years old to 90 years old. Expertise is age-related issues, death and dying, multigenerational communication problems and issues related to living and honoring multi cultures within family and/or self, violence in family and community, refugee issues, trauma, communication skills, caregiver issues, anxiety, depression, and self My approach Start where the patient is at and follow the direction the person sets. I can be directive or follow the lead of the patient. I have 30 years of experience and training in providing therapy - CBT, multigenerational, acceptance, trauma therapy, patient-centered, exposure, and behavioral therapies. I am comfortable with utilizing any therapy. The patient determines the goal. I listen and am nonjudge mentally. The focus is on strengths-based building skills to cope with issues and emotional regulation. My focus I work with children, adults, and the elderly who have depression and/or anxiety. Some clients have long-term depression/anxiety others are acute. I evaluate for previous trauma and risk assessment. I also provide grief therapy for any loss. My communication style Calm, respectful, able to set limits on children and adults for disrespectful behavior aimed at the therapist, and reassuring. Clients feel supported and could talk about anything without feeling judged. My journey to mental healthcare I wanted to be able to help people work through trauma, heal their pain and find their passion. I wanted to be able to make the world a better place. Now I want to help others reach their full potential to help change the world to a healthier place one person at a time. Knowing I made a positive impact in a person's life or that I made a difference which kept them alive.
