Hi, I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts with 9 years of experience in the field. I hold a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling from University of Massachusetts Boston, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Tufts University. My professional experience so far has been mainly in treating people with severe persistent mental illnesses such as depression, bipolar affective disorder, ADHD, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, schizophrenia spectrum disorders, and substance use disorders. I have extensive experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, people of color, immigrants, people with physical and mental health disabilities, and people in the LGBTQ+ community. I am a strong believer in harm-reduction approaches and having a compassionate, non-judgmental outlook. My approach is person-centered, humanistic, trauma-informed, and draws from mindfulness-based therapies as well as motivational interviewing techniques. The past two years in particular have put a tremendous strain on all of us and our coping resources. Many of us are facing life changes, problems, or symptoms they've never experienced before. I commend you for having the courage to take these first steps towards self-care and healing.
