My name Is Aleshia Point. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I have been in this field for over ten years assisting the community with their mental health needs. I am compassionate about the mental wellbeing of others and love to provide a safe space for others to work through issues and discuss their feelings in a judgment-free environment. I enjoy working with clients with a wide range of concerns including but not limited to Depression, Anxiety, and Trauma.
I am most passionate about my ability to normalize mental health and provide clients with care that looks to meet them where they are — instead of taking a cookie-cutter approach. I understand that every theory may not be suitable for every client. I take pride in providing a professional environment for clients to express themselves however they may need to. I strive to not make clients feel as if they need to follow any of society's guidelines if they do not feel inclined to do so. I encourage laughter during tears.
I also enjoy adding in holistic approaches to assist client in reaching their goals. My therapy style is warm and interactive, real, relaxed, and comedic when necessary. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, psychodynamic and holistic. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.
