Aleena Commandeur is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) providing individual psychotherapy. Among some of her areas of expertise are anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, anger management, mindfulness, chronic pain, self-esteem issues, and communication skills. Aleena also has extensive experience working with all age groups and the LGBTQ community. Aleena is an advocate for social justice and she believes in the dignity and worth of every person. Aleena believes therapy is a collaborative process, and she considers the quality and the nature of the therapeutic alliance to be one of the most important aspects of therapy. Through motivational interviewing and by using the strengths perspectives model, Aleena guides patients into establishing new perspectives, improving self-awareness, and utilizing personal strengths to create more meaningful life experiences. Aleena also believes therapy is not a “one size fits all” model, which is why she tailors her approach by using various therapeutic modalities specifically designed for each client. Overall, Aleena is committed to creating a safe space to process feelings without judgment.
