I am so excited that you made it to my page and have begun to check out my profile. I am here to tell you a little bit about myself so that you can determine if I may be a good fit for you in therapy. I have been working in the mental health field for 12+ years and have had a very diverse experience in the field. The majority of my career has been spent working in a large mental health hospital facility and providing care at all different levels of care and to many populations. My first career stop was working as a senior clinician on an inpatient psychiatric unit. I transitioned from this role to a clinical coordinator in an Addiction PHP/IOP program. For the last 4 years of my career, I have narrowed my focus to serving clients in the individual therapy setting. This experience has given me a lot of perspective about the emotional and mental health needs that all of us humans have. I pride myself on making the process of therapy as smooth and comfortable as possible. I have learned how to break the ice and put my clients at ease early on so that they are prepared to face some of the challenges as well as move closer to wellness. I achieve this by making therapy a very collaborative process and creating measurable goals that are tracked throughout our sessions. I do not force my clients to work on or talk about things that they are not ready to address. In addition to that, I have a whole inventory of handouts, worksheets, and resources that I share with my clients in order to increase their options as well as to recognize that there are often multiple avenues to get to the desired goals. I hope you will consider scheduling a first session with me where I will introduce you to the therapeutic process and how I conduct therapy.
