Welcome to Find A Therapist. My name is Ajibola Harris. Just refer to me as "ABBY". I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the states of Oklahoma, Texas and Nevada. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2007 and obtained a Master of Human Relations degree (MHR). In 2010, I obtained my first license to practice as a Licensed Professional counselor (LPC) in Oklahoma and started my career that same year. I worked with four counseling agencies over the course of eight years before relocating to Texas. The in-person therapy sessions were held at clients' homes, agency offices and schools.

In 2021, I became licensed to practice in Texas and had my first experience in online counseling which I really love since I can work from the comfort of my home. In 2023, I obtained another license to practice in Nevada. I have experience working with a wide array of clients from different cultural backgrounds dealing with various life challenges. I have had many years of fulfilling practice.

I am experienced in many counseling techniques and I can combine such techniques based on a client's present concerns and goals. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Technique (CBT) which involves a collaboration with clients to jointly come up with the best goals and solutions to alleviate their symptoms for a better quality of life. This technique focuses on changing how we think in a way that changes our emotions and behaviors. I also utilize Client-Centered Therapy that regards clients as experts on their lives and thus determine the direction and depth of therapy.

I am passionate about my job as a therapist and strive to establish a therapeutic relationship with clients that fosters a strong rapport, trust, comfortable environment, unconditional positive regard, respect, dignity and compassion.

As a non-judgmental and open-minded listener, I approach the therapeutic relationship with acute sensitivity to multi/cross-cultural factors.

I believe that having a good connection with my clients helps facilitate effective counseling and provides the best outcome. My goal as a Counselor is to restore hope to those who have lost it and empower clients to develop healthy coping skills to enjoy life fully. I applaud your courage to seek help and I intend to support and work with you to achieve a more fulfilling life.
