About

Hello! My name is Adrienne and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over fifteen years of experience providing therapy services. I have worked with a wide range of clients in a variety of settings including crisis services, outpatient and intensive outpatient care, and day treatment services. I have worked extensively with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, autism, and FASD. I have worked with patients using individual, family, and group therapy.

My approach to therapy is client centered, warm, and interactive. I believe clients are the expert in their own life, and they determine what they want to accomplish and how deep they want to explore through therapy. Given the right tools and support I believe every individual has the ability to find peace and fulfillment in their life no matter the challenges they are starting from. I draw on many modalities to find the best fit for a particular client, always starting with a strengths-based perspective and a solution-focused lens. I often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and to identify and address negative beliefs that have developed through the challenges of life, and that are currently limiting a sense of accomplishment and joy in life. I also use Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients develop skills to improve their ability to tolerate stress, regulate emotions, and navigate difficulties in relationships. As an individual builds these skills they increase in confidence and find that they are less overwhelmed and more fulfilled in their current life situation. Additionally, I have found that helping parents understand the challenges affecting their children and find new ways to support them can cause profound changes in an entire family system and I enjoy the partnership that can develop with a parent as they navigate their own needs and those of their children.

I firmly believe that above all, clients have the wisdom and ability to work through their challenges as they learn to trust themselves and tap into their creativity and ability to connect their mind and heart. This can often be best achieved by inviting and supporting clients in using various forms of art, writing, and music to express the things they are discovering about themselves, and by so doing the changes become more integrated into the person as a whole. Seeking help to deepen an understanding of oneself and embrace the goodness within is challenging but exciting and I look forward to supporting you in that journey.
