I am Adriene M. Robinson, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker whose focus is family relationships, personal adjustment issues to life transitions, unresolved adult and childhood issues particularly various issues of abuse and trauma. I believe there is a need to provide behavior and coping skills for the child and/or adults in either individual or group sessions. Further, the parents/ caregivers and seniors who may be raising grandchildren. My approach Guide the client/ family in identifying mental health priorities. Cognitive Behavior, solution focus, PTSD resilience are among the specialties offered. Children who are often diagnosed with ADHD may also be impacted by not only their behavior issues but also their family history which also needs to be addressed in therapy. My focus Clients both children and adults who are experiencing mental health discomfort and are responding to life issues. This may be resolved by understanding the cause and history of their discomfort. It is important to emphasize the emotional response is what needs to be assessed and addressed. Clients will be encouraged to identify their goals and priorities My communication style My tone is generally conversational with questions to encourage the client to explore their expectations and goals in therapy. Clients are encouraged to find their own voice to identify causes and then focus on solutions. My journey to mental healthcare When assisting my mother verbalize her needs to various medical professionals. The opportunity to assist others in finding their voice and move from regression of their pain to resilience in spite of the pain. My goals for you Assisting them in identifying why they have sought therapy. " Why am I here.? This may include several areas. Once identified, encourage them to prioritize the most important ones. They will be assisted to recognize the solution to one area of concern may impact more than one goal.
