About

Hello - My name is Adrien! With over 13 years of experience in the mental health field, I recognize how important it is to be treated with dignity, met with empathy, and validated in times of hardship. From our initial consultation to our final session, my priority is to offer genuine, honest, empathetic, and compassionate care. You are so brave for embarking on your personal wellness journey. Together, we can create a life worth living!

As a clinician, I embrace an eclectic approach to healing, designed to empower diverse individuals to reach their mental health, education, career, and wellness goals. By incorporating elements from multiple evidence-based practices, the client and I work together to create a treatment plan tailored to their unique needs, strengths, and circumstances. Creating positive change, uncovering hidden strengths, and discovering untapped potential are the primary reasons why I find counseling so rewarding. In addition, I strive to be a partner throughout the therapeutic process, provide a safe space for the client to be their authentic self, and honor the uniqueness of each individual.

I enjoy working with individuals of all ages, and I have experience counseling those with an array of mental and behavioral health concerns. Most of my training and experience lies in the treatment and management of eating disorders, ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, and obsessive-compulsive disorders. Within the realm of eating disorders, I specialize in body image concerns, perfectionism, self-esteem, and interpersonal conflict. My primary therapeutic interests include mindfulness-based practices, development of coping skills, behavioral rehearsal & in vivo exercises, acceptance-based techniques, and structured goal setting & achievement.

After graduating with an undergraduate degree in Psychology (2013), and before pursuing an advanced degree in Professional Counseling (2018), I worked with individuals and families impacted by eating, mood, and anxiety disorders as a Residential Counselor in both the Adult and Adolescent Residential Facilities at Rogers Behavioral Health in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. While earning my master’s degree, I completed an internship at The REDI Clinic, an eating disorder specialty center. In 2020, I graduated with honors from the CACREP-Accredited Counseling program at Palo Alto University, a Stanford University affiliate. Upon graduation, I worked as a primary therapist at ViaMar Wellness Center, an eating disorder specialty center in West Palm Beach, Florida. After moving back to Wisconsin, I worked alongside individuals struggling with eating disorders in an outpatient setting and facilitated several recovery groups at The REDI Clinic of Wauwatosa. In 2021, I responded to the high demand for outpatient counseling by creating my own private practice, Harp Counseling.

Creating positive change, uncovering hidden strengths, and discovering untapped potential are the primary reasons why I find counseling so rewarding. In addition, I strive to be a partner throughout the therapeutic process, provide a safe space for the client to be their authentic self, and honor the uniqueness of each individual!
