About
Hello, my name is Adrianne Williams and I welcome you!
A little about me. I began my journey in the field of mental health in 1989 as a junior in college working with 12 special young ladies. These young ladies were placed in the foster care system due to abuse, neglect, and significant trauma. They lived in a residential home in which I had the unique opportunity of residing with them, as a live-in youth care worker. Living with these remarkably resilient young ladies, listening to their life experiences, and empathizing with their pain made me realize working in the field of mental health would not be just my career, but my calling.
In 1994, I obtained my master’s degree in Human Services counseling from the University of New Orleans. And over the past 20 years I have been providing clinical support to adults, adolescents, children, couples and families with care and cultural sensitivity. I have worked with individuals dealing with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and substance abuse issues. As well as survivors of domestic violence, grief and loss, and natural disasters such as Hurricane Katrina.
My style is collaborative with a client-centered approach. I strive to do my best at providing an environment that is open, warm, supportive, safe, and non-judgmental. I use evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing.
Since you are here, it means you have courageously taken that most important first step on your path to self-discovery, healing, and wellness. I look forward to supporting you throughout your process and I am eager to work with you.
