About

As a lifelong native of El Paso I decided to remain in my community to offer therapy services for those seeking guidance in resolving their mental health struggles. My story began with my father becoming ill and I becoming his primary caretaker. During that time I had met my husband and we had our first child. My son was later diagnosed with Autism. Those struggles led me to discover the healing arts of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) physical, speech, and occupational therapy. At first like anyone I was a student but now am able to incorporate aspects of those therapies into my current practice. With help from therapy I was able to become a parent to a disabled child. My story does not end here. As my awareness grew for the need of healing services I opted to study nursing. I have a Bachelor’s of science in Nursing and used my degree for several years as a psychiatric nurse at University Behavioral Health. There I worked closely with doctors and nurses that were likeminded and committed to the recovery of patients with mental health issues. That experience afforded me an advanced knowledge and of psychiatric medication and the important role it plays in managing mental health issues. Still I felt compelled to discover the other side of managing mood disorders and chose to pursue a career in therapy. I was witness to its effectiveness first hand on a professional and personal basis. I decided to enroll in a graduate counseling program and in 2018. I graduated from Grand Canyon University. During my practicum at Atlantis where I became certified in Low Energy Neurofeedback I worked with children and their families. As a fully licensed professional counselor in the state of Texas I offer my clients therapy utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Health, Dialectal Behavioral Health, and Mindfulness to name a few of the therapy modalities I incorporate into a session with my clients.
