About

I am a licensed professional counselor in Virginia with over 7 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have worked with a variety of presenting issues to include anxiety, depression, grief, stage of life issues, stress management, career challenges, parenting problems, communication, and spiritual issues. I take special focus in helping people address emotional turmoil, negative thinking patterns, and harmful personal narratives.

My goal as a therapist is to give you a space to be heard and feel understood. I take a person-centered approach and focus on how thoughts, feelings, and behavior are all related to one another, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I also look at relationships and attachment styles. I provide opportunities to look at things from a new perspective, gain insight into situations and emotions, and teach practical skills to help manage uncomfortable feelings and situations. Above all, I will approach you with respect and without judgment, and tailor our sessions to meet your needs and the goals you have in mind.
