Welcome all!! My name is Abel. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with nine years of experience with adolescents and adults, who are experiencing significant social and occupational issues as a result of unresolved symptoms of depression, anxiety, cognitive distortions, perceptual and mood disturbances. You will be empowered and supported through patience and respect, using creative tools, nature, and a holistic approach. I will ask you about things that make you YOU, things that you enjoy and dislike, things that you put in your body (on mental, emotional, and physical levels). I am direct but respectful. I am compassionate but not enabling. My therapy style is concrete and interactive. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and do not believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and holistic. I will tailor our sessions and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I specialize in collaboratively helping individuals navigate life’s transitions across the span of human development. Your well-being should not come at the expense of authenticity. My approach is insight driven with genuine and respectful therapist input, so that our therapeutic relationship creates a safe space for exploration of the deeper self in order to make meaning out of the experiences you have survived and learn to see the world from an alternative perspective. I encourage vulnerability and open-mindedness from a nonjudgmental and non-adversarial stance and believe that human connection is at the root of all healing.
