Personal Statement

My practice is geared toward helping individuals overcome the barriers that prevent them from achieving their personal goals, and toward helping couples understand and meet each other's needs without compromising their own individuality. I do not have one approach to treatment that I apply in all cases, but rather I tailor my approach to the specific needs and personal styles of each individual or couple.

I have often observed that couples wait to seek treatment until the relationship has deteriorated past the point where there is sufficient motivation to improve the situation. I also encourage pre-marital counseling for couples who intend to marry before they have set a date and made arrangements for their event.

In addition to having been in practice for more than 25 years, I have a strong personal connection to the world of the creative arts. This has given me a special understanding of the particular struggles that face individuals in this field.

I have also had success in helping people quit smoking cigarettes, and have developed insight into the factors that make this challenge especially difficult for some individuals.
