Personal Statement
I know how it feels to have a secret, and to feel hurt. I also know how it feels to be supported, heard and understood. It’s your turn. I became a therapist to give you what helped me most: expert support. I work with people who are ready to explore the underlying causes of their pain and want to reclaim their self-compassion and love for others in order to lead healthier, happier and highly productive lives.
Finding the right therapist makes a big difference! I am the right therapist for you if you prefer direct, honest communication, want a safe and comfortable space to discuss your concerns, expect your therapist to be compassionate and knowledgeable about trauma, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, bipolar disorder, infidelity/betrayal, sexual abuse, domestic violence, and stalking.
Come see my office, and have a brief chat with me about how we can work together. If it feels like a good fit, we will schedule individual or group therapy appointments, depending on your needs.
I look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you may have. A common question is "Do you take insurance?" I am considered out-of-network for all insurance plans and I will provide monthly statements so that you can access your out-of-network benefits.
I became a licensed clinical social worker in 2001 after earning my Master of Social Work degree from Tulane University and completing a 12 month clinical internship at DePaul Hospital in New Orleans. Prior to that, I completed my undergraduate work at Middlebury College. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, a Florida Qualified Supervisor for Registered Social Work Interns, and I am licensed in Florida, Arkansas, and New York.
