Personal Statement
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist & Registered Addiction Specialist in Marin County, California. I am not a therapist that simply reflects back to you on how your week went and asks "how did that make you feel." I am very active and solution-oriented in my sessions. As a therapist, I bring my education, life experience & clinical training to help guide our work. With a blend of experience, understanding, intuition, & humor & with a willingness to suspend judgment, think creatively, & remain truly engaged to develop a different perspective learning new skills that move you toward creating the life you want.
Therapy can be hard work & takes courage. People that come to me for help are unique and different from one another. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches to meet the specific needs & expressed desires of each individual, couple, and family, so they may successfully attain their short-term goals and long-range solutions
In addition to my clinical degree, I am a trained Addiction Specialist & Certified Relapse Prevention Therapist. People struggling with substance abuse or dependence are often self-medicating their depression, anxiety, and trauma. Addressing the underlying causes that are the contributing factors to substance abuse or dependence is a crucial piece of treatment. I offer a Harm Reduction or abstinent only treatment.
No matter how well things are going in your life, you may sometimes wonder what stops you from achieving more. Your life may be a series of painful triggers stressors, which may lead to increased anxiety, depression, & traumatic responses.
Psychotherapy can be your gateway to a life filled with confidence, happiness, serenity, & balance. To strengthen & grow your Observing Ego, which allows you to truly know who you are, the impact you have on others, and in turn how others impact you. I work with adults, couples, teens, & families to help address life’s challenges & live a more joyful and satisfying life.
