Personal Statement

Sharon Alonso is a licensed clinical social worker supporting individuals, couples and families as they grow in their understanding of themselves and others. From anxiety and depression to relational issues and eating disorders, Sharon is invested in helping clients develop and maintain healthy patterns to live more fulfilling lives.

Trained and proficient in a variety of evidence based practices, Sharon takes an integrated approach to care. She most often uses CBT, Trauma Focused CBT, ACT, MAP, Solution Focused Motivational Interviewing, and Crisis Intervention among other techniques. She also employs treatment options such as psychodynamic therapy with mind-body techniques like relaxation or mindfulness when appropriate.

Sharon successfully managed her own private practice in California. She was trained at George Washington University in Washington D.C. and earned her masters degree (MSW) at The New York University School of Social Work in New York City.

Sharon is bilingual and works with clients in both English and Spanish.
