Personal Statement
Have you tried to solve a problem on your own and decided you need help? I specialize in child and family work, love helping parents find new ideas, and enjoy bringing partners closer together. My approach is person-centered, strengths-based, and grounded in family systems theory. I collaborate with you to wonder, explore, and find more positive experiences. My work is goal-directed and individualized to your needs.
My approach to therapy is strengths-based and grounded in family systems theory. That means I believe that you are the expert on being yourself. I also believe your current situation is impacted by your relationships and those around you. Creating lasting change requires us to look beyond ourselves and to consider the influence of all of the relational systems with which we interact (partners, other family members, friends, neighborhoods, and communities).
I don't "fix" you or your identified problems because I believe you already have many strengths and the inherent ability to change and grow. Instead, I collaborate with you to wonder, explore, and find more positive interactions and experiences. It is my role to empower you to create change as defined by you, and to help you reach your full potential. I listen carefully to assess your needs, and we will work together to clarify your goals and find ways you can achieve emotional well-being and increased satisfaction.
I will challenge you to understand yourself, learn new strategies, and change patterns that are getting in your way. My goal is to help you acquire and fine tune skills and strategies for being your best self.
