Personal Statement
Life is hard, and navigating yours may feel overwhelming sometimes. If you've come to the end of your rope, reaching out for a helping hand is simply wise. As they say, "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you always got." Maybe it's time for you to think outside the box, and to find resources beyond what hasn't worked for you or other people you know. If so, I hope you'll come to your own aid and make that initial phone call, frightening though it may be. Courage isn't the absence of fear, but what we do in the face of it. I work with individuals, couples, and families, and I "use my own product." I believe that a therapist can only take someone as far as she's been willing to go herself.
Although I specialize in working with adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse (I'm a survivor myself), I also enjoy working with couples whose relationships are in disarray, helping them retain their dignity as they try to understand and resolve conflict. In addition, I'm a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), and often work with the partner through post-discovery trauma.
Learning how to navigate through grief and loss is one of the most important tasks of life, but few of us receive good modeling or guidance in these processes, and we end up building up relational habits that make life and relationship even more difficult. Psychotherapy can help sort through the wreckage of brokenness so that you can become whole and healthy. Then you can be the person you want to be, and you can create the life you want.
I accept insurance on an "out-of-network" provider basis, which means that insurance usually reimburses you 60-80% of my billable rate. I also offer a discount fee schedule for clients who pay out of pocket. Special services available: house calls, on-line sessions.
