Personal Statement

I have been where you are and know how it feels to struggle with depression, anxiety, anger, relationship problems, or blocks to progress in life. Your life and relationships can be exciting again! I consider it a privilege to be invited into your life to help you make changes to live a life full of possibility. Special areas of interest are grief and loss, gender identity, adoption and attachment issues in children. It is my hope that I bring love, caring and concrete solutions to you and your concerns.

I address women's issues including development of healthy relationships, adjustment difficulties, shame, and abuse. In couples therapy I use Emotion Focused Therapy and Imago therapy. With children I use attachment theory and theraplay activities. Parenting concerns are based on Love and Logic principles. With my background in nursing, I can provide support in health concerns.

Your time in counseling is a pivotal season in your life where you are ready to make significant changes for yourself. This season can be a few sessions to a lengthier time depending on your situation and desire. My goal is to leave you more empowered and connected to others.
