Personal Statement
Are you unhappy with your life or unfulfilled in your relationships? Do you feel overwhelmed by worry, sadness or uncertainty? Sometimes we just get stuck. It is common for people to experience more than one major life stressor at the same time, making it difficult to manage on our own. My passion is working with college students and young adults with depression, anxiety, relationship and addiction issues. By collaborating together, we will strengthen coping skills and create a road map to help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and get you back on track.
I have been providing mental health and addiction counseling since 2006 in both individual, couples and group settings. I come from a strengths-based perspective utilizing research based interventions. These include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused techniques, The Harm reduction Model, among others.
I am compassionate, direct and non-judgmental in my approach. My goal is to help you find mental and emotional balance, while enhancing skills and fulfilling relationships. I understand therapy can be both challenging and adventurous so it's an honor to be a part of your road to wellness.
I believe it takes courage to ask for help and recognize the need for change. I want to empower my clients to take new, healthy risks that will challenge their deepest thoughts and core beliefs.
