Personal Statement

I help individuals, couples, and families maintain health and wellness, moving past sticking points in their personal and professional relationships. Difficulties can be overwhelming and finding the path to reconciliation may seem impossible. I am committed to working with clients to help them identify the issues involved, clarify their goals, and find resolution.

Although I use a number of techniques to counsel clients, my concentration is on the Bowen Family Systems Theory. This theory maintains that emotional processing in relationships guide human functioning. Individuals are a part of a much larger system of relationships, and it is within this context that we must see ourselves and heal.

I have 20 years’ experience working with others regarding anxiety, relationship issues, and coping skills. I am the Associate Director and a faculty member of the KC Center for Family Systems. We provide educational opportunities to individuals regarding systems thinking and principles, so they may apply them to their personal and professional relationships.
