Personal Statement

Julie is the founder and Executive Director of Omaha Integrative Care. She specializes in many areas, including infertility, mind body medicine, depression, anxiety, trauma, mood disorders, loss and relationship issues. She is particularly passionate about working with executives and entrepreneurs on developing mindfulness and stress reduction practices to enhance creativity, productivity and living and working to one’s full potential.

Julie received her Masters in Clinical Social Work from Boston College as well as her Diplomate in Clinical Social Work, which is the highest distinction bestowed on clinical social workers. She trained and worked at Child Guidance Centers in Boston, Massachusetts, and Connecticut, as well as trained in the Yale Child Study Center’s Child Development Community Policing Program.

Her passion for mind/body medicine began early in her career when she first heard Jon Kabat-Zinn speak in Boston, MA. Building on her extensive training in trauma, she continued on to receive specialized training in mind body medicine. She has been fortunate to learn from esteemed professionals in this area, such as Dr. Herbert Benson, of the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine and Dr. Alice Domar, executive director of the Domar Center for Mind-Body Health.

An active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, she has also been active on the Nebraska chapter board of the National Association of Social Workers serving as the Chairperson for the Ethics Committee and Eastern Region Representative. Julie served on RESOLVE‘s Support Group Oversight Committee and co-chaired the Women’s Fund of Omaha Circles Group.
