Personal Statement
I am a passionate therapist dedicated to helping you and your family achieve the results you seek from therapy. I understand that seeking therapy can be a difficult decision to make, so I am committed to providing a positive and comfortable experience throughout therapy. Therapy always goes at the pace that you choose, and I value interactive feedback while deciding on a treatment plan. Every single child and family is unique; therefore, I design custom treatment plans for each individual based on their needs and desires.
I serve children, teens, and families in my counseling office. My specialties include working with trauma, depression and anxiety, ADHD, academic difficulties, behavioral problems such as anger or defiance, sexual abuse, foster and adoption, and attachment issues. After a thorough assessment (which includes individual observations, school collaboration, and parent feedback), we will discuss diagnosis and plan a course of treatment. Depending on your child, we will choose to use play therapy, sand tray work, family therapy, expressive arts, individual therapy, mindfulness training, parent coaching, or a combination of aforementioned. I also specialize in Theraplay, which is a parent-child relationship based form of therapy.
I am an attachment based therapist with a knowledge base of neuro-sequential brain development. What does this mean to you? Well, it means that I base my treatment plans with a scientific approach of understanding how a child's neural networks "came online" throughout infancy and childhood in order to create the most effective means to healing.
