Personal Statement

Art heals. When you make art, you unleash a power that will often transcend words. I employ a humanistic, person-centered approach and I offer traditional art mediums, digital media technologies, and sand tray therapy as different avenues for you (or your loved one) to tell a personal story. I provide a safe & soothing environment for you or your loved one to explore and express the self. The therapeutic relationship, externalization of emotions via art making, and verbal processing of the creative experience all work together to synthesize healing and overall wellness. No prior art experience necessary.

I will help you or your loved one to develop coping strategies to better manage anxiety and depression when faced with life challenges. I have extensive experience helping young people thrive when faced with chronic/life threatening illness. My understanding of how illness affects the family greatly helps facilitate healing.
