Personal Statement

Learn options to help cope with life's obstacles and start creating the life you want. Whether your need is tied to LGBTQ identity or sexuality, or coping with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues, my goal is to help you discover realistic options for growth. I can help you in creating as your pathway for the future, as you tap into intrinsic strengths and motivation while exploring new ways of thinking and possibilities for positive change. I have treated individuals, groups, and private clients. Together, we can explore alternatives for self-nurturing and healing.

Drawing from both life experiences and education in counseling, James uses various theoretical approaches including cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal and existential therapy, collaborating with clients wherever they are in the recovery or growth process.

His goal is to empower the client to achieve peace of mind and meaningful life changes by exploring their strengths and values to uncover a pathway for optimal growth.

James especially enjoys building relationships with LGBTQI clients. As a gay man in Atlanta who survived “coming out” as a young adult , he can identify with LGBTQ+ culture while providing genuine support and guidance. He strives to offer the most safe and affirming space possible for the LGBTQ+ community.
