Personal Statement
"I don't know what comes over me." "Why isn't my relationship working?" Clients who make these statements com to me seeking answers. I help them by putting them in touch with lost parts of themselves and using mind, body and spirit to access them. The goal is to transform pain into wisdom and conflict into connection.
Working with individuals and couples for over twenty-five years has afforded me time to grow and develop as a holistic therapist able to help persons in relationships that have hit the rocks, or in spirits burdened by depression, anxiety or confusion. After one session most individuals or couples feel a sense of hope, that they are capable of understanding themselves and beginning to own their deepest, core self.
It is gratifying to hear clients say that though they may have come in with little hope, they are leaving with some. Then the deeper work can proceed that includes reintegrating lost parts, developing compassion for oneself and your partner, if you have one, and communicating clearly.
For each person has a deeper self that wants and needs to be in charge but that can be pulled off course by wounded or underdeveloped parts. There are different ways to access them, ranging from dialogue to role play to looking at dreams, to body awareness. The point is to bring all parts into awareness, and to be able to accept all parts of ourselves. The intention is to bring relief and a greater sense of wellbeing, wholeness and connection into clients' lives and relationships.
